A stage manager is a professional in the performing arts who has responsibilities for organizational and logistical aspects of producing a show. They are often considered the "fourth member" of a production team, after the writer, director, and producer. A stage manager typically works on one production at a time, but may be employed by a theatre company to work on multiple productions simultaneously. The duties of a stage manager vary depending on the type of production and venue, but generally include maintaining control over rehearsals and performances; calling cues; ensuring adherence to onstage action as called for in the script or rehearsal process; executing necessary substitutions during performance due to emergencies or unforeseen actor absences; coordinating communication between behind-the-scenes crew members (e.g. lighting designer) and onstage performers; operating special effects equipment; maintaining medical records for actors; and serving as an onstage liaison between actors and crew during performances when offstage support is needed.

First, they should create an online presence through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any fees associated to cancellations, refunds and disputes? arrow-right
See our terms & conditions relating to fees in our pay section on the Help Centre.
Why are we so much cheaper than competitor sites? arrow-right
We are founded and developed by gig workers of the NZ economy. We passionately care about driving down the cost of business and increasing opportunities for all. We have developed a platform we believe can do this for you. We hope by creating a marketplace combing all ways of working and advertising, along with working and designing smarter, we can reduce our costs, so we don’t have to offset them onto you. We call that empowering the win-win. For more information see our fair pricing policy.
What is the difference between a fixed price & negotiable gig? arrow-right
When you set a fixed price gig, the price is non-negotiable, so anyone applying for the gig agrees to the price set in the gig listing. Negotiable gigs have no price set on the listing, but allow the gig lister and gig workers to negotiate through the private chat portals. Once an agreement is made, the scope or works and price is updated on the gig listing and agreed to by both gig lister and worker. With a negotiable gig, you can also make a change to the scope of the gig once it is in flight. Please note, any new price is just for the additional work, not the total value of the old and new.
What makes a great gig listing? arrow-right
The gig is a defined task, with a pre-determined outcome. If you ensure your scope of expected work is detailed, with a level of quality specified, this will reduce any miscommunication/misinterpretation when gig workers review.
Is it safe to save my information on gigexchange? arrow-right
Yes, we have done everything to keep your personal information safe. We have partnered with Cloudflare, Google & Stripe to ensure all PCI compliance protections are in place. All card payment information is stored on Stripe, not gigexchange. We abide by all security best practices to reduce the risk of your customer data loss.
