Gathering Foley Sounds (sound effects recorded live on stage or in studio) under the supervision of the Sound Designer/supervising Engineer

. Placing microphones on performers and Engineering their placement throughout the theater as needed according to actors’ blocking

. Ensuring that all wireless microphones are functioning properly before each show

. Taking note of any feedback issues during rehearsals/performances

Checking & stocking batteries for all handheld mics

Assist with load-in and set up of props related to mic work

Help break down miking positions post show

Drive rental van(s), if need be, loaded with gear

Be able coordinate additional crew hired day-of-show as necessary

Make sure there is always at least two staff backstage

Manage stock

Train new ASMs in your position

Serve as ASM when necessary

Attend weekly production meetings
