Successfully completed the Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory and Advanced Level courses. 3. Proven track record of creating successful beverage pairings and recommending appropriate wines for patron’s needs/preferences to enhance the dining experience Training Requirements: 1. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of wines from various regions worldwide such as Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, New World Regions (Australia & South America), California etc... 2. Conduct tasting menus highlighting different grapes and styles while demonstrating substantial knowledge on wine related areas such as appellation laws, vinification methods etc... 3. Maintaining stock rotation in cellars with an accurate record keeping system tracking sales by bottle size (corkage etc) Qualifications Requirements: Professional certification from one or more recognized institutions relevant to beverages and beverage management such as the Court of Master Sommeliers or The Guild of Sommeliers UK is desirable but not essential depending on prior industry experience outlined above 2 .Advanced diploma in Beverage Management Skills (Batchelors Degree preferable). Equivalent industry qualifications may be accepted provided certain criteria are met e g WSET Level 3 Award in Wines & Spirits awarded by Wine & Spirit Education Trust or Food Hygiene Certificate awarded by Chartered Institute of Environmental Health , UK Education Requirements: 1 .Bachelor degree in Enology/Viticulture 2 . Masters degree preferred but not required if other qualifications are able to meet requirements 3 . Postgraduate Diploma / Certificate specializing in hospitality management 4 . Knowledgeable about local wineries and vineyards 5 . Knowledgeable about food choice techniques when pairing different types & styles
