Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. • A minimum of three years’ progressive management experience in a hotel/resort setting including: revenue management; human resources, business planning; brand compliance; and cost containment strategies. • Prior experience managing multiple Food & Beverage outlets, banquets/catering services and housekeeping operations preferred. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel). • Knowledge of budgeting principles & operational metrics with the ability to analyze & accurately interpret financial information. • Excellent problem solving abilities with attention to detail. • Proven organizational skills & ability to prioritize projects effectively within deadlines demanded by the business culture for timely resolution is critical for success on this position • General understanding of applicable laws pertaining to hospitality industry such as ADA compliance (elements related hospitality industry) labor laws etc.). • Knowledgeable in basic preventative maintenance techniques • Strong customer service orientation – can anticipate needs& provide value added service both externally with guests as well externally within the company when dealing with leadership at all levels throughout the organization
What is the Salary of a Hotel Manager?
At the junior level, an entry-level hotel manager typically earns between $32,000 and $45,000 per year. As the manager gains more experience and responsibility the salary can increase to between $50,000 to 70,000. For an experienced senior-level manager position salaries can range from around $75,000 up to as much as $140,000 and beyond depending on experience level and other related factors such as world economics. With exceptionally upper-level managerial positions salaries up top over 200k are not uncommon especially in high volume luxury hotels or resorts that operate year round.
